Joint voices of the Civil Society

The first part of the session will invite the moderators of this year’s Civil Society Forum sessions to share their conclusions from the day, and present their proposals for follow up in regard to those conclusions. This will provide ideas regarding the future direction of work for civil society organisations working in the respective fields, and communicate to political leaders the region’s civil society concerns, relevant to future agenda-setting of the Western Balkan Summit series.

The second part will discuss the role and the format of the Civil Society Forum for the future. It will deliberate whether it has been contributing to the Berlin Process goals, whether regional civil society organisations have been truly included in decision-making at the regional level and whether the Process contributed to their networking. This session is looking to assess the thus far role of the Civil Society Forum of the Western Balkan Summit Series and yield ideas about its future directions, now that the initial period to what the Process was projected has ended, and the new phase has begun.

Moderator: Ana Marjanovic Rudan, European Fund for the Balkans, CSF WB coordinator
