National identity and the preservation of the Polish language
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Polish diplomatic and consular missions and Polish cultural institutes, supports the teaching of the Polish language. It strives to preserve and strengthen Polish national identity and enables Poles living abroad to participate in national culture. These tasks are carried out through grants for the modernisation of Polish community organisations and institutions, as well as funding projects such as concerts, film screenings, theatre performances, and exhibitions. It supports initiatives that help strengthen the position of the Polish diaspora in local communities and host countries. The Ministry strives to initiate and develop youth, academic, cultural, economic, and sports exchanges involving the Polish diaspora and Poles living abroad. Diplomatic missions are also a valuable source of knowledge about Polish national remembrance sites abroad, which they care for in collaboration with competent institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN) and the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN).
