Family Care Capital. Parents will have a choice

05.08.2021

On an ongoing basis, we observe the incoming opinions and, above all, we listen to the opinions of parents themselves. Therefore, it is the parents themselves who will decide whether they are going to make use of the new benefit for one year in the amount of PLN 1,000 per month, or whether they are going to receive support for two years – PLN 500 per month. – as the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg says with respect to Family Care Capital. The draft act has already been submitted for public consultation.

Rodzinny Kapital Opiekunczy

Family Care Capital is a new type of benefit addressed to families with dependent children, and its objective is, first of all, to partially cover expenses related to childcare. The benefit will be granted for every second and subsequent child in the family, aged from 12 to 36 months, in the total maximum amount of PLN 12,000 per child.

As a rule, the benefit will be paid for 24 months in the amount of PLN 500 per month per child. Parents will be able to choose whether they want to receive PLN 500 per month for two years or PLN 1,000 per month, but for a year.

All parents will have such a choice – announces Minister Marlena Maląg.

The Act is to enter into force on 1 January 2022. What is important, the Ministry of Family and Social Policy proposes that the right to family care capital should also be granted to parents who – already on the date of entry of the Act into force – have the second and subsequent child aged from 12 to 36 months.

For such children, family care capital will be granted proportionally for the period from the date of entry of the Act into force until reaching the age of 36 months by the second or subsequent child – explains the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The draft act has already been submitted for public consultation.
