Celebration of National Independence Day on November 11, 2022.

On November 10th 2022, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm organized a ceremony on the occasion of the Polish Independence Day, attended by representatives of the Polish community in Sweden, including Polish business and organizations gathering Polish intellectuals in Sweden. Additionally, the ceremony was attended by representatives of the Swedish State administrations, local governments and Swedish parliament who are declaring their Polish origin. The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Joanna Hofman emphasized during her speech, that the fight for independence was marked by many tragic events in the history of Poland, in which almost every Polish family was painfully experienced and lost their loved ones. Having thrown off the yoke of communism for more than three decades ago, we have a free and independent fatherland that is a member of the EU and the North Atlantic Alliance, and Poles today have many reasons to be proud and satisfied. The Ambassador also emphasized Poland's contribution and commitment to multidimensional assistance to Ukraine during Russia's brutal aggression, including Poland's acceptance and care of war refugees.

During the ceremony, musical performances were provided by f.e. the well-known Polish pianist from Gothenburg, Wojciech Głuch, who played the Dąbrowski Mazurka and an original piece to the words of a poetry by L. Staffa. Additionally, two Ukrainian musicians, Marina Moritz a pianist from the Lviv Conservatory, and Volodymyr Gavryshko, a violinist from the Higher Music School in Lugansk and Chernivtsi, performed Frederic Chopin's Polonaise in A Major, in a piano and violin duet.
