The situation is remains tense, as irregular migrants keep escalating and becoming more aggressive. On Tuesday, 28 May, one Polish soldier was stabbed. Donald Tusk reaffirmed his support and increased safety for Polish officers and soldiers.

23.05.2024Joint letter of the Greek and Polish Prime Ministers to the President of the European Commission“The European Union needs a game changer, a bold initiative that will send a clear and strong message to our friends and foes, to our allies and competitors alike, that the EU is taking its defence seriously,” claim the Prime Ministers of Poland and Greece in their joint letter to Ursula von der Leyen. Donald Tusk and Kyriakos Mitsotakis are calling for a 'flagship' programme - a European air defence shield to strengthen the European Union's overall defence capabilities and encourage European arms companies to develop cutting-edge technology. It will also show that Europe is united and determined to take action for self-defence.

Google has been active on the Polish market for nearly 20 years. As of today, the company has 1700 Polish employees and is currently planning new investments.

21.05.2024Commission established to investigate Russian and Belarusian influencePoland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued an order establishing a commission to investigate Russian and Belarusian influence in 2004–2024. It will be chaired by the Head of the Military Counterintelligence Service, General Jarosław Stróżyk. The prime minister also announced that the regional structures of the Internal Security Agency will be restored. He admitted that over 90% of people crossing the Polish border illegally have Russian visas. In addition, he provided information regarding sabotage and subversion in Poland.

EIB invested 100 billion EUR in Poland during 20 years of our EU membership. Donald Tusk announced that Poland will receive further funds of 300 m EUR, which we will spend on building the “iron dome”.

On the anniversary of this heroic battle, Prime Minister Donald Tusk participated in the establishment of the feast of 2nd Polish Corps Command – Land Component Command. Prime Minister argued that the security of Poland can only be ensured by four dimensions, which the government implements: geopolitical security, European air defence, internal security and a secure border. For this purpose alone, the government will allocate an additional sum of PLN 10 billion.

14.05.2024Polish secret services need to be bolsteredPoland's internal security was the main topic of the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday. As of now, there is little doubt that effective defence requires bolstering the Polish special services. The Prime Minister pledged 100 million PLN to be earmarked for this purpose. The Council of Ministers also adopted a draft amendment to the Copyright Act including royalties, as well as a proposal to raise income criteria for social assistance.
