The potential of artificial intelligence, previous experience in the use of IT systems in the implementation of the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy 2023-2027 – these were the main topics discussed during the meeting held on 20th December 2023 at the ARMA Headquarters.

Meeting was attended by representatives of the Lithuanian Paying Agency, ARMA experts and Specialists from Agro Applications IT Company.
"I am very pleased that the long-term cooperation between our paying agencies is constantly strengthening and bringing results in the form of various initiatives," said Joanna Gierulska, Deputy President of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture, while welcoming the guests. She reminded that on the basis of the agreement signed in 2016, Lithuania and Poland are jointly undertaking activities aimed at implementing new programmes, making payments and developing IT systems. The delegation from the Lithuanian Paying Agency (NMA) was led by Director Fortunatas Dirgincius.

Tomas Orlickas, Deputy Director of the National Paying Agency presented ‘AI - can it help the Paying Agency?’ presentation which showed artificial intelligence tools which are being used in the NPA activities and which are helping to communicate more efficiently, conveniently and quickly about support for agriculture, rural development and fisheries. These are robots performing the functions of consultants, writers and artists  – they help the NPA clients to get the most relevant information 24/7.

Meeting participants also talked about the current activities of the consortium, within which Poland and Lithuania, together with France, are running a twinning project for Serbia.
