The team of the Polish Embassy in Nairobi, together with the Kenyan Polish community, representatives of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the Kenyan public and private sectors, jointly celebrated the 233rd anniversary of the adoption of the May 3rd Constitution. About 200 people took part in the ceremony.

In his opening speech, Mirosław Gojdź, the ambassador of the Republic of Poland, stated:
“It was the first constitution in Europe and was the basis for creating the nation's identity. It regulated the legal system of the state, following the principle: All power in civil society comes from the will of the people. The main idea of ​​the Constitution was to create a community of free citizens... I would like to share with you the great joy and pride of Poles on the occasion of Constitution Day on May 3."

The guest of honor, representing the Kenyan administration, Mr. John Elungata, Secretary Administration of the Ministry of the Environment, emphasized the significant role of the May 3 Constitution in building civil society and referred to the first-ever visit of the President of the Republic of Poland to Kenya and the signing of economic agreements, stating; "Bilateral relations with Poland are very important for Kenya and are developing intensively."

The main event of the ceremony was a piano concert by the famous pianist Professor Wojciech Waleczek, who performed works by great Polish composers: Fryderyk Chopin, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Stanisław Moniuszko and Wojciech Kilar. The concert ended with a standing ovation. The participants considered the ceremony to be a unique event.
