Janusz Janke graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Lublin where he was conferred the title of Master of Law in 1995.  In 1996 he also completed postgraduate studies for tax advisors.

 In the years 1995 – 1996 he worked for the Ministry of Economic Cooperation with Abroad, being responsible, as a member of an inter-branch team, for adjusting Polish customs regulations to European Union law. In the years 1997 – 2006 he worked in the Ministry of Economy where he attended, among others, as a representative of Poland, the meetings of the Committee of Customs Value of the World Trade Organization in Geneva.Simultaneously, in the years 2000 – 2006, he worked as a lecturer in customs law and international trade in the University of Commerce and Law and Higher Customs School.

 J. Janke is the author and co-author of a number of publications in the field of foreign trade as well as highly appreciated academic textbooks in customs law. In 2004 he was awarded by the President of SGH University in the category of "best law books". 

Janusz Janke served for a number of years as a representative of the Minister of Economy in supervisory boards of the largest mining companies in Poland: Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A., Rybnicka Spółka Węglowa S.A. and Katowicki Holding Węglowy S.A.

 In the years 2007 – 2013, he held the post of the Head of the Political-Economic Unit of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Amman as well as the post of the Deputy Head of the Mission. Then, in the years 2013-2015 he held the position of the chief expert in the Ministry of Economy.

 In the years 2015 – 2018 he was the Chief Expert and then Counsellor of Minister in the Department of the European Funds in the Ministry of Energy, where he was in charge of the supervision of projects implemented from EU funds.

 From 16th of September 2018 Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Qatar. Fluent in English and Italian.
