Prime Minister Donald Tusk highlights that the continued security of our continent depends on Poland to a significant extent. The upcoming European Parliament elections are set to be the most important in Poland's post-war history.

26.04.2024A secure Poland in a secure EuropePrime Minister Donald Tusk attended a total of 27 meetings with the leaders of European countries and institutions over the course of three months. The first capital visited by the Prime Minister was Kyiv. The visit took place on 22 January. Other meetings were held in Brussels, Berlin, Paris, Vilnius, Prague and Washington, as well as many other cities. All of them had one shared purpose - ensuring security and making all the leaders realise the importance of continuing extensive support to the struggling Ukraine. The visits were reciprocated - heads of states and institutions visited Warsaw 16 times to date.

25.04.2024Solutions helping Polish farmersThe government wants to support Polish farmers and ensure that the excess grain is shipped out of country before the next harvest. That is why the latest aid package approved by the Council of Ministers envisages subsidies per tonne of grain. Requests can be submitted until 5 June 2024. The goal of the new package is to protect farmers from the aftershocks of the war in Ukraine.

23.04.2024Debates on Poland’s the United Kingdom’s and Europe’s securityThe Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg visited Poland on 23 April. The trilateral meeting was held at the headquarters of the 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade. The talks focused on security and cooperation within the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. After a face-to-face meeting with the British Prime Minister, Mr. Tusk stated that the cooperation between the countries could serve as an example for other partners in Europe.

22.04.2024Prime Minister: local government elections showed that Poland is everywhereThe local government elections, which determined local authorities across the country, are behind us. On Sunday, in more than 700 locations across the country, the second round of voting for mayors took place. Prime Minister Donald Tusk speaks of a collective victory for the Civic Coalition and the October 15 Coalition. Head of the government congratulated all those who stood for these elections, won against their competitor and were elected to lead Poland’s municipalities, cities and towns.

16.04.2024The security of Poland discussed by the Council of MinistersGiven the tense situation in the Middle East and the ongoing war across our border, today's meeting of the Council of Ministers was special. In addition to members of the government, it was attended also by the head of the National Security Office and generals representing the Polish Army. The main topic of discussion was the security of Poland. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has no doubts that Poland and Europe must act jointly and severally on this issue. Poland wants to participate in the construction of the so-called iron dome, which will protect the European sky.

The two heads of government discussed regional security issues, as well as further assistance to Ukraine and the priorities of the European Union. Donald Tusk pointed out that Europe needs to have its own effective missile and air defence system.

It is now crucial to support Ukraine in its war against the Russian aggressor. Donald Tusk's conversation with Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron also focused on increasing the defence potential of Europe as a whole. The next Weimar Triangle summit will take place in Warsaw in early summer.
