Events in Prague mark the Visegrad Group’s 30th anniversary

30 Years of the Visegrad Group Poster Exhibition
25 January - 26 February 2021, the Hungarian Institute in Prague


The exhibition features posters awarded in an international competition organised by the Polish MFA and Stowarzyszenie Twórców Grafiki Użytkowej (the Association of Applied Graphic Designers) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Visegrad Group’s establishment. The exhibition was prepared by the Polish Institute in Prague, and it is displayed in the windows of the Hungarian Institute in Prague. A film guide of the exhibition was released on 15 February, prepared by the Slovak Institute in Prague

Outdoor exhibition Do not be afraid! The Church and Eastern Europe’s path to freedom
12 February - 8 March 2021, Peace Square, Prague


Outdoor exhibition launched by the Polish Institute in collaboration with the Archbishop of Prague. The exhibition’s theme revolves around the role of the Catholic Church in building resistance to communist oppression, focusing on prominent figures from the four countries of the Visegrad Group (Wyszyński, Beran, Korec, Mindszenty).

The exhibition will also be displayed in other towns of the Czech Republic (České Budějovice, Brno, Olomouc, Pilsen)

 

Discussion titled Where does Visegrád come from and where is it heading?
15 February 2021, 7 p.m., online


The meeting of people involved in the events of 30 years ago: diplomats and politicians from Poland (Mirosław Jasiński), Czech Republic (Alexandr Vondra, former minister for foreign affairs, currently member of the European Parliament, Michael Žantovský, former diplomat, currently executive director of the Václav Havel Library) and Slovakia (Rastislav Káčer, diplomat, current ambassador of Slovakia in Prague). The participants will talk about the origins and history of regional cooperation in Central Europe.
