Official opening of the Research Center for Visegrad Group (V4) in Shanghai

The Research Center for Visegrad Group was officially launched on January 18th, 2021 at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) with a seminar “China and Visegrad Group Cooperation Prospects”. Opening of the Center was possible thanks to a long standing cooperation between the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai and all other three V4 Consulates General located in the city.
It is worth mentioning that SASS which ranks among 20 top Chinese think tanks is also the second biggest academic organization and comprehensive research center in the field of social sciences in China. The Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences which has already earned a solid reputation in conducting researches on Central and Eastern Europe countries from this moment on will be more focused on V4 countries.
Chinese researches working at SASS have already published series of monographs such as “The Belt and Road Country Studies” devoted to Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. It is widely believed that in the near future the Research Center for Visegrad Group will become the main scientific institution in the PRC aimed at expanding academic exchanges and fostering dialogue with research institutions in V4 countries.
