25.10.2020
On 25 October 2020, on the initiative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai, the 'Visegrad Sunday' was organised in Shanghai.
The main subject of the event was a reference to the 29th anniversary of the organisation of the first Visegrad meeting on the territory of Poland (6 October 1991, Krakow), promotion of the Polish Presidency of the Visegrad Group, and presentation of the 1st inaugural edition of the Visegrad magazine. "Visegrád Echo. V4 Magazine in China.” (VE) is a publication inspired by the history of the Polish biweekly newspaper “Echo Shanghai”, which was published between 1936 and 1949 by the Polish community living in Shanghai. Promotion of the Visegrad Group countries in China, its culture, tourism and business contacts is the main objective of the magazine. The magazine is created in cooperation with consulates of V4 countries, tourism organizations and chambers of commerce. Polish institutions involved in the preparation of the first edition include: Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai (initiator of the project), Foreign Trade Office of Polish Agency for Investments and Trade (PAIH) in Shanghai and the Polish Tourism Organisation in Beijing.
The “Visegrad Sunday” took place in the form of a picnic, during which promotional materials about the V4 group states (including “VE”) and balloons with the logo of the Polish Presidency of the Visegrad Group specially prepared for the event were distributed.
An additional attraction was a biographical exhibition about Fryderyk Chopin and a concert as part of the classical music festival in Changning.
