ARMA representatives at the 53rd Conference of Directors of EU Paying Agencies in Sweden

The 53rd Conference of Directors of European Union Paying Agencies was held from 7-9 June 2023, in Arlandastad in Sweden. Sweden currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU. The recurring meeting was attended by the heads of EU paying agencies and agricultural sector institutions of all Member States and candidate countries, as well as representatives of the European Commission, the European Court of Auditors and the European Anti-Fraud Office OLAF. ARMA was represented by The Deputy President Joanna Gierulska, The Director of the Audit and Control Department Monika Chłopecka and The Deputy Director of the Analyses and Reporting Department Emilia Godlewska.

The 53rd Conference of Directors of European Union Paying Agencies was held from 7-9 June 2023, in Arlandastad in Sweden. Sweden currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The main theme of the Conference was The possibilities and challenges of the new CAP 2023-2027.

In relation to the new CAP delivery model is about to be implemented in practice, presentation from Spain, France and Sweden of the state of play in each country were delivered for the process of compiling the requested Annual Performance Report.
Possibilities in the use of digitalization in farming and administration with particular emphasis on the Area Monitoring System were discussed during parallel session which also consisted presentations regarding: Main findings in the fight against fraud in Agriculture – looking at Member States’ experience; Anti-fraud strategy – focused on prevention and detection; Conflict of interest in the context of the CAP and gathering good practices how to protect the funds and make sure the money ends up in the pocket of the rightful beneficiaries.

At the last point of the conference the speaker of Spanish Agrarian Guarantee Fund presented an Invitation for the 54th Conference of EU Paying Agencies in Spain.
