During the research visit in Alexandria, thanks to the hospitality of the museum management, Professor Jan Wiktor Sienkiewicz made a professional assessment of preservation of the paintings by Polish soldier-artists and prepared photographic documentation necessary for further conservation work. Thanks to the rich scientific achievements of Professor Jan Wiktor Sienkiewicz, we know that "the first documented exhibition of the painting achievements of Polish artists-soldiers was organized in September 1941 under the patronage of General Stanisław Kopański, the commander of the Polish Army in the Middle East and the mayor of Alexandria Ahmed Kamel Pasha at the Alexandrian studio "L'Atelier". The exhibition became an opportunity to establish artistic and personal contacts between Polish artists and the local artistic elite." - (fragment: J. W. Sienkiewicz, Artyści Plastycy Generała Władysława Andersa, Londyn 2018).
