The second part of the composition of "The Visegrad Suite"

26.11.2020

„Mazurek Bb-dur” is the second of the four parts of the composition of "The Visegrad Suite" - the latest project of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Cairo.

V4PRES

It’s one of the “Mazurkas” from the Op. 50 by Karol Szymanowski.“Mazurkas Op. 50" are conscious revisiting of Fryderyk Chopin's heritage and a continuation of a key genre of his music. Rather than imitating Chopin's style, however, Szymanowski's mazurkas represent a new, extended approach to the genre created by that 19th century composer.

The project was prepared and implemented by the OdeonX ensemble.

"The Visegrad Suite" is a series of four online concerts with Polish, Hungarian, Slovak and Czech music inspired by folk art. Each of the four parts shows, in a modern representation, the folkloric roots of the countries of the Visegrad Group. The suite is as a symbol representing both the diversity of the group and the universal unity of the V4 countries. The idea of the concerts is connected to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Visegrad cooperation.

The first part of the "The Visegrad Suite" was “Slovensko” published two weeks ago. The next two parts of the "Visegrad Suite" will be published on our website and on social media within month.
