Poland at the 6th Baltic Sea Day 2026 in Estonia
27.08.2026
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tallinn showed on Baltic Sea Day, August 27, that truly cares about our shared maritime heritage.
Together with Finnish Institute, Goethe Institute, Embassy of Denmark and Embassy of Sweden and NORDEN, we celebrated the Baltic Sea Day from sunrise to sunset at the RMK (Estonian State Forest Management Centre) Kabli Visitor’s Centre, Lennusadam (Lootsi koge tent), during the Baltic Bike Tour, and at the Open Air Museum in Viimsi. Many thanks to our amazing partners and hosts in Estonia: the Coastal Folks Museum, the Estonian Maritime Museum, the Estonian Institute of Historical Memory, and the RMK Kabli Visitor Centre! Thanks for artists and scientists who let us share theirs work with the audience. Thanks for the initiative for the John Nurminen Foundation.
Under the common slogan after Jaan Kaplinski: “The Same Sea in Us All”, together we made happen:
In Lennusadam:
- presentations of Baltic treasures, as “Lootsi koge”
In Kabli:
- ceramic fish installation by students of VHK and display of Estonian Baltic-related Illustrations by Viive Noor, Catherine Zarip, Anne Linnamägi & Regiina Lukk-Toompere
In Viimsi:
- outdoor exhibitions of illustrations by Joanna Concejo (M as for Maritime) & Joanna Czaplewska (”Baltek”)
- creative zone for games and activities for people of all generations
- lectures by ichthyologists Doris Pajumäe and Andres Jaanus on the Baltic fish
- Baltic souvenirs lottery
- Kiilu & heringas pop-up bar
- Folk dance performance on the seaside
- Baltic Day Splash at 6 PM
- Baltic legends “good night” storytelling
In Tallinn:
- Baltic Biking Tour Lennusaadam – Viimsi Open Air Museum
A lot of work, great fun, and strong willpower to keep our efforts going, directing the attention of Baltic countries' residents to the importance of safety, cleanliness, caring for both tangible and intangible heritage, and good neighborly relations in the Baltic region
See you again at the next Baltic Sea Day on the last Thursday of August 2027!
