Poland at the Diplomacy Week in Tallinn

Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Artur Orzechowski participated at the invitation of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Tallinn Old Town schools meeting program, within the framework of Diplomacy Week in Estonia.

Diplomacy Week

On January 28th, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Estonia Artur Orzechowski took part in the Diplomacy Week program at the prestigious VHK school in Tallinn.

During the official meeting, the Polish Ambassador spoke with the directors and teachers of the Tallinn Old Town Schools about the role, goals, and different forms of diplomacy. He delivered a presentation about Poland and about Polish cultural and educational events held in Estonia, highlighting them as examples of the daily work of the Polish Embassy.

The meeting with the 11th‑grade students took the form of a Q&A session. The questions focused on diplomatic careers and education, as well as recommendations for tourist destinations in Poland and Polish films and books.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the main building of VHK. Ambassador Artur Orzechowski was introduced to the school’s educational concept, library, laboratories, and common spaces. The school team also had the opportunity to taste Polish apples and sweets offered by the Polish Embassy. In line with the Diplomacy Week tradition and as part of the ongoing Year of the Book celebrations (lasting until March 2026), the Ambassador presented the schools’ libraries with the latest Estonian-language editions of Polish books.

The long-standing and very fruitful cooperation with the VHK schools will be continued. The Embassy of the Republic of Poland expresses its gratitude to the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia for the invitation, and to VHK (Vanalinna Hariduskolleegium) Director Mme Anu Nigesen and the entire school team for hosting the Ambassador.

Diplomacy Week

Due to to the tradition from 26 January to 2 February 2026, Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted Diplomacy Week. Its aim is to bring diplomacy closer to the public, explain the daily work of diplomats, engage young people and raise their awareness of diplomacy and Estonia’s foreign policy.

 As part of this initiative, diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia as well as those foreign diplomats stationed in Estonia have visited schools, shared insights into their work, and has been engaged in discussions with students about the role of diplomacy.

Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Estonia took part in this format for the first time. Ministry of Foreign Affaires of the Republic of Estonia expressed its’ gratitude for the contribution to inspiring young people and introducing them to the world of diplomacy.
