Katowice, Poland will host the 11th World Urban Forum (WUF) from 26 to 30 June 2022. WUF is a prestigious international conference, organized by UN-Habitat for urban growth and human settlements. The theme of WUF11 is Transforming our Cities for a Better Urban Future. This will be the first time when WUF will take place in Central Europe.

Ambassador Bobak met with the students awarded with the Banach Scholarship 2021/22. High number of excellent candidates translated into 21 Ethiopian students being awarded, more than from any other eligible country.

Refund issues are settled between students and universities. If you don’t start you studies for any reason, including visa refusal, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland does not mediate between the student and the university, and has no legal instruments to help obtain the refund from the universities.

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been receiving reports of phone scams in which fraudsters claim to be either MFA’s employees or employees of Polish missions abroad to get the call recipients perform certain actions, especially money transfers. Usually, during the phone conversation scammers will inform you that you have failed to follow certain procedures or provided partial or false data while filling out forms, which will allegedly bring about legal consequences.

Neonatal and nephrology hospital’s departments will receive new medical equipment as part of a small grant from Polish Aid.

When on 3 May 1791 the Four-Year Sejm also called the Great Sejm adopted The Government Act of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth later known as the Constitution of 3 May, the Polish-Lithuanian state became the Europe’s first and the world’s second that passed the basic law.
