Signing of grant contract with Hope for the Blind Association
18.06.2020
The project aims to boost marketing capacity of the Association and help its most vulnerable employees during the pandemic.
The contract was signed by Ambassador Aleksander Kropiwnicki and Director Yohannes Giday, due to COVID-19 restrictions – remotely. The association employs around 150 disabled persons, mostly visually impaired. It produces wool rugs, doormats, and mops for local and export markets. The Association is already financially sustainable, and the goal of the project is to increase sales and profitability through improved marketing, including new channels of sales offline, online, and exporting. This should allow to increase salaries, and create more jobs. Part of the budget will temporarily co-fund salaries of the COVID-19 high risk employees who stay home during the pandemics.
