Barbara Piętka
University Professor, University of Warsaw
Dr. hab. Barbara Piętka is a professor at the University of Warsaw, where she founded and leads a research team focused on the study of non-equilibrium Bose-Einstein condensates of exciton-polaritons in semiconducting materials, with applications in optical neural networks. She is the co-author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles published in prestigious international journals, including Nature Physics, Nature Materials, Science, Physical Review Letters, Laser & Photonics Reviews, and Optica. She leads an EIC Pathfinder project dedicated to the development of photonic accelerators. Dr. Piętka is also the University of Warsaw’s representative in the Q-Cluster on Quantum Technologies in Poland and serves as Polish representative in the EU Quantum Community Network.
EIC Pathfinder Open - PolArt
The PolArt project responds to the increasing demand for physical implementations of artificial neural networks, moving beyond purely simulated systems. Its goal is to develop a new method for constructing dedicated artificial intelligence circuits using polaritonic neural networks as optical accelerators.
