EU Innovation Journey'25

Emilio Carrera is part of the European Affairs Department at Bpifrance, the French public investment bank. He oversees the European Commission's direct financing programmes and coordinates actions in support of the European Innovation Council (EIC), integrating Bpifrance's interventions with those of the EIC.

Before joining Bpifrance, Emilio worked as a Senior Consultant for strategic innovation funding and DFIs investments, including IPCEI and R&D projects (EU State Aid notification). He advises industrial sector companies as an innovation consultant and economic intelligence analyst, focusing on strategic innovation and R&D in automotive, micro-nanoelectronics, bio-economy, energy, and environment.

Emilio has also worked as a researcher and fellow lecturer at the Paris Center for Law and Economics at Paris II – Pantheon Assas University. He holds a PhD in Industrial Economics from Paris II – Pantheon Assas University.
