VIGO Photonics is a leading European manufacturer of epitaxial wafers and instruments for photonics and microelectronics. The mission of VIGO Photonics is to provide fast, convenient, and easy-to-use infrared detectors covering any wavelength from 2 to 16 µm, reaching fundamental BLIP limits without cryocooling. The product range includes detection modules with various spectral response ranges, time response characteristics, and gains.

For nearly four decades, all products have been designed and manufactured in-house, using unique proprietary technology. A key strength of the company is its ability to combine research and development in IR technology with manufacturing activities, ensuring close collaboration with customers to meet their needs.

The mid-infrared range enhances human capabilities by enabling the detection of chemical compounds, temperature, size and distance of measured objects. It also facilitates the monitoring of multiple vital signs and parameters of the human body, which is critical for future wearable sensors. VIGO Photonics’s photon detectors are commonly used in many industrial applications to provide real-time measurement of temperature or chemical composition of gases and liquids, power and beam shape control of industrial lasers, and the identification of hazardous substances in air and water. VIGO Photonics’s detectors are often important components of many European most advanced technologies and equipment.

During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the innovative solutions developed by the company, as well as discover its history and future plans. The guided tour of the headquarters will also include an introduction to the company’s production processes and a presentation of its products.
