Participants of the Inaugural meeting of the State Council for Geodesy and Cartography

The meeting of the newly appointed State Council for Geodesy and Cartography (PRGiK) was held on January 15, 2026, at the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography (GUGiK).

The meeting was opened by Surveyor General of Poland (GGK) Andrzej Żylis, who presented the new Council members with their appointments. After the ceremony, he presented a summary of the most important activities of the GUGiK over the past year.

The rest of the meeting was chaired by the Council Chairman, Dr. hab. inż. Paweł Hanus, Prof. AGH, who discussed the main tasks of the State Council for Geodesy and Cartography operating under the Surveyor General of Poland as an advisory body to the GGK and proposed the election of two Vice-Chairmen of the Council.

As a result of the vote, Prof. dr hab. inż. Elżbieta Bielecka and dr hab. inż. Marcin Karabin, Prof. PW, were elected as vice-chairmen of the Council.

The Chairman of the PRGiK announced that the next meeting of the Council would discuss, among other things, issues related to qualifications and continuing education.

The next meeting of the State Council for Geodesy and Cartography is scheduled for April 8, 2026.
