A workshop on modern topographic mapping methods is being held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from July 9 to 11, 2025. The meeting was organized by The School for Land Administration Studies (SLAS) in cooperation with the University of Twente and Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency of the Netherlands (Kadaster).
The Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography, as the cartographic agency (NMA), was invited to present the experiences, challenges, results to date and goals of the topographic mapping process in Poland. The online presentation entitled “Mapping services of the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography - experiences, challenges, best practices” was given by Anna Makowska - senior specialist from the Department of Geodesy and Cartography.
Previous experiences of European countries presented at the meeting are expected to help cartographic agencies of the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia region to design a modern map production process using the latest and already proven technologies.
