Poland in Indonesia

The Guest of Honour was Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Ms Arifah Fauzi. The event was also honoured by the presence of Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Prof. Stella Christie and Chair of the Indonesia–Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group, Member of Parliament Dave Laksono.

In her remarks, Ambassador Barbara Szymanowska highlighted the growing role of Poland and Indonesia on the international stage, the development of political and economic cooperation, and underscored the importance of the CEPA agreement between the European Union and Indonesia. The Ambassador also expressed condolences following the deaths of three Indonesian soldiers serving in the UNIFIL mission, in which a Polish contingent also participates. She further emphasized the dynamic growth of people-to-people contacts, tourism, educational exchanges and cultural cooperation between Poland and Indonesia, noting, among other things, the increasing number of Polish tourists visiting Indonesia and the growing interest among Indonesian students in studying in Poland.

A special feature of the evening was an exhibition of the six best designs selected in the batik pattern competition organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Jakarta. The works, showcasing a creative dialogue between Polish and Indonesian cultures, attracted considerable interest and received very positive feedback from the guests.

The event was further enhanced by Polish chefs Marcin Budynek and Kamil Babkowski, who prepared a variety of traditional Polish dishes. The reception was accompanied by a Polish-Indonesian musical programme featuring saxophonist Kuba Skowroński and vocalist Nesia Ardi.
