Meeting of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland with the Minister of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia

H.E. Ambassador Krzysztof Dębnicki met with the Minister of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia, Ms Zuraida Kamaruddin in August 12th, 2020 in Putrajaya.

The Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of the Political and Economic Section of the Embassy, Mr. Maciej Tumulec. The meeting was also attended by Chief of the Malaysian Fire Department, Dato ’Mohammad Hamdan Bin Hj Wahid, Director General of Department of National Solid Waste Management Mr. Suliman Bin Abd Rahman and Executive Director of URBANICE Malaysia, Mrs. Norliza Hashim.

 

During the meeting, the possibilities of potential cooperation in the field of firefighting and waste management were discussed. Ambassador Dębnicki encouraged the Malaysian side to use Polish solutions in these areas. He also emphasized on the technological advancement of Polish companies in the field of protection, rescue and firefighting equipment. The counsels were met with great interest of the hosts.

 

The parties also discussed the possibilities of taking joint initiatives related to the upcoming 50th anniversary of establishing the Polish-Malaysian diplomatic relations in 2021.

 

Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin offered to share with Poland the experience in organising of the World Urban Forum (WUF9), which was held in Kuala Lumpur in 2018. Katowice will be the host of WUF11 in 2022.
