Official Visit of the President of the Republic of Poland and the First Lady to Malaysia

The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, together with the First Lady, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, paid an official visit to Malaysia from 9th to 11th June 2025.

The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, together with the First Lady, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, paid an official visit to Malaysia from 9th to 11th June 2025. It was the first visit by a Polish President to Malaysia since 1999. The official and ceremonial welcome of the Presidential Couple by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim and his spouse took place on 10th June at the Perdana Putra complex in the administrative capital, Putrajaya.

Following the ceremony, the leaders held a one-on-one discussion and then presided over a plenary session of both delegations. During the talks, they discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, defence and new technologies, including opportunities for greater access to the Malaysian market for Polish food products. They also addressed the most important current regional and international issues. Subsequently, both leaders took part in a press conference for the Polish and Malaysian media.

President Duda also visited the 2nd Regiment of the Royal Armoured Corps in Port Dickson, where he viewed a presentation of Polish-made military equipment used by the Malaysian Armed Forces, including PT-91M tanks, drones and communication systems for infantry fighting vehicles.

On 11th June, President Duda delivered a lecture entitled “Poland’s Position in the EU: Challenges and Choices” at the University of Malaya, in which he presented Poland’s perspective on the current security threats, challenges related to shaping a new international order as well as cooperation between the European Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He also gave an interview to the Malaysian news channel Astro Awani.

In the afternoon of 11 June, the Presidential Couple departed for Singapore to carry out the second part of their visit to Southeast Asia.

On the occasion of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Poland, a joint statement between Poland and Malaysia was adopted.
