Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski Visits the National Institute of Telecommunications

On Monday, August 4, 2025, the National Institute of Telecommunications hosted Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski. The meeting with the Institute's leadership provided an opportunity to discuss key activities and projects carried out by the Institute in the field of advanced digital technologies.

During the talks, the Institute was represented by Director Anna Streżyńska; Mariusz J. Figurski – Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs; Wojciech Kamieniecki – Deputy Director for Development and Communication; and Krzysztof Szubert – Director’s Plenipotentiary for Commercialization and International Cooperation. The discussions focused on, among other topics:

  • issues related to the protection of critical infrastructure, particularly the InfraShield 360 program, which focuses on a comprehensive approach to securing networks and systems vital to the functioning of the state;
  • the Institute’s activities in the fields of satellite and radio communications, as well as the monitoring and mitigation of GNSS signal interference, which are crucial for sectors such as transportation and defense;
  • involvement in establishing the foundations for the Baltic AI GigaFactory – a national data processing center and infrastructure hub supporting the industrial-scale development of artificial intelligence;
  • the development of quantum technologies and the building of expertise in this strategic area, both in terms of research and infrastructure.

The meeting also addressed the Institute’s role in strengthening Poland’s digital sovereignty and its collaboration with public administration, the business sector, and the scientific community.

Today’s visit marks another step in solidifying the position of the National Institute of Telecommunications as a key expert and research center supporting the country’s digital transformation.
