08.10.2025

The accredited IT Security Evaluation Facility (ITSEF) at the National Institute of Telecommunications successfully evaluated the cybersecurity of the DTMS-2 motion sensor.

The motion sensor is installed within a road transport vehicle as part of the digital tachograph system. Its purpose is to provide a Vehicle Unit with motion data that accurately reflects the vehicle's speed and distance travelled. The DTMS-2 motion sensor is compliant with the Common Criteria Protection Profile Digital Tachograph - Motion Sensor Version 1.0 (compliant with Commission Implementing Regulation 2016/799).

The DTMS-2 motion sensor is a product of CB ELECTRONICS SP. Z O.O. Its evaluation was performed at assurance level EAL4 augmented with ATE_DPT.2 and AVA_VAN.5 and included penetration testing with the highest attack potential (AVA_VAN.5).

As a result of the completed evaluation, the accredited certification body at NASK-PIB issued a certificate confirming DTMS-2 compliance with the protection profile and Common Criteria standards. The certificate and security target are available here: https://certyfikacja.nask.pl/certyfikaty-cc/.

The IT Security Evaluation Facility (ITSEF) at the National Institute of Telecommunications – National Research Institute (Accreditation No. AB 1787) has been operating since 2020 as a result of the implementation of the KSO3C research and development project (National Scheme for Evaluation and Certification of ICT products compliant with Common Criteria).

Since 2021, the Laboratory has held accreditation from the Polish Centre for Accreditation to perform conformity assessments with reference standards and protection profiles, including performing penetration testing with the highest attack potential (AVA_VAN.5). As the only one in Poland, the Laboratory holds accreditation for performing compliance testing of cryptographic modules with the requirements of reference standards EN-ISO/IEC 19790 (equivalent to FIPS 140-3) and EN-ISO/IEC 24756.

The Laboratory offers its services to clients within an information security management system, and obtained a certificate of compliance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 27001 standard in 2023.
