The National Institute of Telecommunications strengthens its position in the EU Cybersecurity Framework

During the Easter meeting of the National Institute of Telecommunications team, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski, Dr. Eng. Elżbieta Andrukiewicz received the EUCC certificate for the Institute's IT Security Evaluation Facility (LOB/ITSEF).

The IT Security Evaluation Facility of the Department of Cybersecurity and Internet Technologies and Applications at the National Institute of Telecommunications, led by Dr. Andrukiewicz, is currently the only institution in Poland authorized to certify devices for digital security in accordance with the international EU Common Criteria framework.

We are committed to ensuring that all European cybersecurity certification schemes are available in Poland. The authorization granted to the National Institute of Telecommunications to operate at this level is a testament to the Laboratory’s exceptionally high level of expertise, as well as the rigorous procedures applied both in testing and in safeguarding the information processed within the Laboratory

- said Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, congratulating the Head of the Laboratory and the entire Institute.

Thanks to the obtained notification, the Laboratory is now able to conduct advanced security evaluations, supporting the development of trusted technologies in Poland and across the European Union.

Dr. Elżbieta Andrukiewicz is a world-class expert in information security management and cybersecurity. She leads the Department of Cybersecurity and Internet Technologies and Applications, as well as the Security Evaluation Laboratory for IT Products (ITSEF) at the National Institute of Telecommunications. Her achievements include contributions to the development of international ISO/IEC standards and European cybersecurity frameworks, as well as many years of expert work in the field of ICT security.

It is also worth noting that Dr. Andrukiewicz has been awarded the title of “Engineer of the Year,” further confirming her outstanding achievements and contribution to the development of cybersecurity.
