Consultations with Polish experts on strategic communication

On 23 April 2024 the Polish Delegation to NATO hosted a group of experts on strategic communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Polish Institute of International Affairs, the University of Warsaw and the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Director Tomasz Chłoń, representing the Departament for Public Diplomacy at the MFA and professor Agnieszka Legucka, analyst from the Polish Institute of International Affairs briefed the representatives of the NATO Committee on Public Diplomacy.

The experts informed the group about the planned organizational changes in Polish administration aimed at increasing strategic communication effectiveness and countering disinformation. The new projects involve greater participation of third sector in responsible StratCom. The experts also pictured main challenges posed by Russian malign activities in information space. The meeting was very well received by Allies. 

The group of experts had an opportunity to exchange best practices with Allies and the representatives of the NATO International Staff. Poland supports an increased role of NATO in tackling disinformation and foreign interference in democratic processes.
