Meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels
15.10.2025
Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz took part in a meeting of NATO defence ministers
During the meeting, the Allies discussed how to further strengthen deterrence and defence capabilities. The Eastern Sentry activity, launched in September this year, plays a special role in the context of recent violations of allied airspace by Russia.
The ministerial meeting also included an informal session of the NATO-Ukraine Council with the participation of Ukrainian Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. The current situation on the front line and possibilities for military and political support for Ukraine were discussed.
On the sidelines of the ministerial sessions, the Deputy Prime Minister held consultations with his counterparts from Finland, Lithuania, Portugal, the United States and the United Kingdom. He also took part in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding concerning equipment and training of Ukrainian forces by Poland, the Baltic and Nordic countries, and a Polish-Ukrainian Letter of Intent on cooperation between the defence industries.
The NATO ministerial meetings were followed by a session of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group.
