    The October Defence Ministerial Meeting was a first high level NATO event chaired by the new Secretary General Mark Rutte. The discussions focused on deterrence and defence posture, response to Allied airspace violations, air and missile defence, logistics, enablement and resilience as well as assessment of the status of current NATO’s operations and missions.

    President Andrzej Duda, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski participated in the NATO Anniversary Summit in Washington D.C. The Summit began with the Allies-only session that was followed by the meeting with the Asia-Pacific Partners and the EU representatives. The Summit was concluded with the NATO-Ukraine Council session. The discussions focused on assistance to Ukraine, strengthened deterrence and defence posture and global partnerships.

    On 21 June 2024 the Polish Delegation to NATO organized a seminar dedicated to the upcoming NATO Summit. The seminar gathered renowned experts in international security: professor John Deni from the US Army War College, Justyna Gotkowska from the Polish Centre for Eastern Studies and Giuseppe Spatafora representing the EU Institute for Security Studies. The panel was moderated by journalist Teri Schultz.

    On 13-14 June 2024 ministers met in NATO HQ to discuss preparations for the Washington Summit, strengthening of Allied deterrence and defence and support for Ukraine. It was the last ministerial meeting before the Summit.

    On 30-31 May in Prague, Czechia, NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs held their last meeting before the Summit in Washington. Poland was represented by Minister Radosław Sikorski. Before their working session ministers met with the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel.
