Seminar: Poland, 25 years in the Alliance

On the occasion of 25th anniversary of Polish accession to NATO, Polish Delegation organized in NATO HQ a seminar: Poland, 25 years in the Alliance. The event started with the screening of a film "NATO. Article 5" produced by TVN, featuring high-ranking officials responsible for our accession process.
In his opening remarks Ambassador Tomasz Szatkowski underscored the practical and symbolic value of accession which opened the door to the West for Poland. The panel gathered experts on NATO and Polish security policy: Mr. Robert Pszczel (Center of Eastern Studies), Prof. Jamie Shea, Dr. Anna Wieslander (Atlantic Council), General Sławomir Wojciechowski (Polish Representative to NATO Military Committee). The discussion was moderated by Mr. Bruno Lété.
The experts summed up the decision-making process regarding Polish aspirations and accession to NATO, transformation of Polish Armed Forces towards NATO standards, benefits of the accession, political and military transformation of the Alliance from the Warsaw Summit onwards, current and future tasks for NATO in the context of the upcoming Washington Summit.
