Poland in the OSCE

‘We need to reinvigorate the debate about European security. Let us start a process that will help us to uphold the Helsinki Conference principles in full conformity with international law,’ said Poland’s head of diplomacy in the meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna, marking the official beginning of the country’s chairmanship of the OSCE on 1 January.

On 13 January, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau will take part in a session of the Permanent Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) to officially present the agenda and priorities of Poland’s OSCE Chairmanship.

Chairman-in-Office Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau spoke today on the phone with Acting Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi.

I am closely following recent developments in Kazakhstan.

Today, Poland has started its one-year Chairmanship at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Thus, our country is assuming a greater role in shaping security and stabilisation on the European continent in the spirit of the Helsinki Final Act, whose 50th anniversary we will be celebrating in 2025.

The chief of Polish diplomacy received in Warsaw Ambassador Mikko Kinnunen, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group.

On 1-3 December 2021, the capital of Sweden hosted foreign ministers of 57 OSCE participating States and the Organization’s partners for co-operation.

From 1 to 3 December 2021, Poland’s top diplomat Zbigniew Rau will take part in Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

“From the very beginning, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights has remained one of the OSCE’s fundamental institutions, renowned for its support to the participating states,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk as he opened a conference to mark the Office’s 30th anniversary.
