On 29 January 2026, shortly after 22:00, while the vessel XIN JI XING was being boarded by a pilot at the Gdynia roadstead, the pilot was involved in an accident. As the pilot ladder swung away from the ship’s side, the pilot, who was on the ladder at the time, struck the ship’s side. He sustained injuries and, after the vessel had berthed, was transported by ambulance to hospital.
