Poland in Romania

The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Poland Tadeusz Kościński runs for the post of the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Maciej Lang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Romania, presented the credentials to Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at a solemn ceremony held in Bucharest on the 29th of July 2020.

The call for proposals in the "Polish Returns 2020. COVID-19 Edition" program is addressed to institutions planning to employ scientists whose research may be relevant for broadening knowledge and solving significant problems related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences, in particular representatives of broadly understood health and biomedical sciences.

This year will go down in history as a time of great struggle and consequence. Our fight against the pandemic is an epic human endeavour, but we need to brace ourselves for an even more important battle in the months ahead – over the shape of our post-Covid economy.

The Adam Mickiewicz Institute is building in a virtual space an interactive garden inspired by the work of Krzysztof Penderecki. "Penderecki’s Garden" will flourish in November, but users can already follow how the project grows.

Seventy five years after the end of the Second World War, we pay tribute to its victims. We remember the indomitable struggle of the Polish nation against Nazi Germany throughout the conflict in Europe, lasting from September 1939 to May 1945.

On 10 April 2010, a special TU-154M plane with the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the First Lady Maria Kaczyńska on board took off from Warsaw to Smolensk. On that very day the members of the official delegation were to participate in the ceremonies taking place in the Katyn War Cemetery, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the crime committed there. The aircraft carried 96 people, including members of the highest state authorities, representatives of various social circles and religious denominations, high-ranking military commanders and the plane’s crew. All the flight passengers died in the air disaster which took place during landing at the airport near Smolensk.

Analyzing the epidemiological situation in Romania and complying with recommendations of local authorities, the Consular Unit of the Embassy suspends registration of visa applications (e-consulate).
