The establishment of the Society is the result of an initiative and several months of coordinated efforts undertaken by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore. Work on the project commenced in January 2025 and brought together a group of distinguished representatives of Singapore’s artistic and business circles, as well as members of the Polish community residing in Singapore.

The initiative was officially presented to the Presidents of Poland and Singapore during the state visit of President Andrzej Duda to Singapore in June 2025. Expressions of support were conveyed, among others, by David Neo, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Rosa Huey Daniel, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Singapore to UNESCO, and Goh Swee Chen, Chair of the National Arts Council.

The mission of the Chopin Society Singapore is to promote classical music, with particular emphasis on the works of Frédéric Chopin, to enhance public appreciation of the arts, and to further strengthen cultural cooperation between Poland and Singapore. The Society will pursue these objectives through concerts, recitals, lectures, competitions, and outreach programmes, as well as by fostering international collaboration via scholarships, grants, and initiatives dedicated to supporting young musical talents.

The Society formally inaugurated its activities on 1 September 2025 with a recital co-organized with the VIVA Foundation, during which the acclaimed pianist Zhang Shengliang, stage name Niu Niu, performed a selection of works by Frédéric Chopin.
