On December 3, the Polish Embassy organized a unique musical event at Esplanade, Singapore's prestigious cultural centre, to officially welcome the new Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland, Ambassador Tadeusz Chomicki.

Duo Mikołajczyk & Jedynecki Concert at Esplanade Recital Studio.

The recital featured the Polish violin-and-accordion duo Karolina Mikołajczyk and Iwo Jedynecki, regarded as one of the most promising young chamber ensembles from Poland and winners of numerous prestigious international music competitions.

During the concert, the artists took the audience on a remarkable musical journey, showcasing a rich repertoire that included works by Polish composers such as F. Chopin, G. Bacewicz, A. Tansman, and W. Kostrzewa, alongside well-known pieces by European masters like A. Piazzolla, C. Saint-Saëns, and A. Vivaldi.

The performance was met with enthusiastic applause, concluding with encores and a standing ovation.

In his speech preceding the performance, the new Head of the Embassy welcomed the guests and shared his vision for strengthening relations between Poland and Singapore — not only in the areas of investment, trade, technological cooperation, science, and security but also through vibrant cultural exchange, which he emphasized plays a crucial role in fostering international bonds. He also highlighted the role of culture as a universal language and a tool for building mutual understanding between nations, while referencing shared values — especially in times of unjustified aggression, conflicts, social tensions, and global challenges.

The concert hall, filled to capacity with approximately 250 attendees, welcomed representatives of the diplomatic community, the Singaporean government, cultural institutions, academia, research organizations, business leaders, artists, and the local Polish community.

A pre-concert small reception provided an excellent occasion for dialogue, mutual introductions, the exchange of ideas, and the cultivation of both new and existing relationships.
