Poland in Singapore

Graphics and animation, sound production, motion copying, testing, subcontracting and internships exchange, as well as the mutual support in promoting products entering European and ASEAN markets are the main areas of mutual interest, identified during the first dedicated dialogue among the e-gaming industry organizations from Poland and the ASEAN countries. The webinar "Gamedev in Poland and ASEAN", organized on 25 March 2021 was the first regional economic diplomacy initiative of this type,  presenting regional context and benefits Polish computer games companies can derive from expanding cooperation with South-East Asia.

By inaugurating the meeting, that also generated interest from the general public, Ambassador of Poland in Singapore Magdalena Bogdziewicz stressed global successes of Polish gaming brands, the maturity of Polish IT sector and the interest to cooperate with experienced regional partners. "An exchange among industry associations will allow us to better understand the strengths and the needs of both Polish and South-East Asian partners," she said.

Institutional partners from Poland and 6 ASEAN countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam) took part in the meeting, put together by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore in cooperation with the Indie Games Polska foundation, as well as regional partners.  Singapore was represented by the Singapore Games Association and the International Game Developers Association in Singapore.

The “Gamedev in Poland and ASEAN" webinar forms part of the annual PolandSHIOK festival.  Parallel to promoting Polish culture, traditions and economic offer in Singapore the festival serves as a platform to stimulate cooperation in highly innovative industry areas.
