Jazz concert by the Pawlik & Pawlik Duo in Singapore

On the 25th of September, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Singapore organized a unique jazz concert at the Victoria Concert Hall - one of Singapore's most prestigious cultural centers.
The performance featured the Pawlik & Pawlik Duo – Włodek Pawlik, one of Poland’s most acclaimed jazz pianists and the country’s only Grammy-winning jazz artist, and his son Łukasz Pawlik, an award-winning musician and composer, laureate of the Berlin Jazz & Blues Award.
The duo presented a unique program for piano and cello, blending original compositions with innovative interpretations of classical works. Notably, in the context of the upcoming International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, the musicians performed a brilliant jazz arrangement of Fryderyk Chopin’s mazurkas.
The event gathered around 350 attendees, including representatives of cultural and educational institutions, the business community, the diplomatic corps, as well as members of the Polish community in Singapore.
The concert was met with great enthusiasm – the performance concluded with several encores and a standing ovation. After the concert, the artists engaged with the audience, signing autographs and posing for photos.
Ambassador the Republic of Poland to Singapore, H.E. Tadeusz Chomicki took the opportunity to announce upcoming initiatives featuring Polish performers in Singapore later this year. These include a recital by the young guitarist Marcin Patrzałek, the semifinalist of America’s Got Talent, as well as the much anticipated concert by the winner of the XIXth International Chopin Piano Competition. Concert attendees were also informed about the milestone establishment of the Chopin Society in Singapore.
The Pawlik & Pawlik Duo concert was part of a broader effort intended to go beyond the classical music repertoire consistently featured in Embassy events, to enrich the Singapore cultural scene with diverse musical genres and bring it to new audiences.
Prior to the concert, a reception organized by the Embassy provided an opportunity for representatives of local institutions, artistic circles, and the diplomatic community to mingle and build new connections.
