Poland strongly represented at Singapore Fintech Festival 2019

Singapore Fintech Festival 2019

In connection with the 4th edition of the FinTechxSWITCH Festival 2019 taking place in Singapore between 11-15 November, a delegation of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF), headed by Magdalena Borowik, advisor to the President of KNF and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology (MPiT), represented by Mr. Adrian Malinowski, director of the Department of Trade and International Cooperation visited Singapore. Beside official delegation, Polish business representation took part in the exhibition. Five companies from the FinTech industry presented their offers as part of the stand organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH). The KNF also organized its promotional stand in the regulatory zone.


As part of the "Financial Inclusion in the age of evolving Global FinTech Regulations" panel, Magdalena Borowik took part in the discussion on the role of regulations in stimulating development of consumer-friendly and safe financial innovations, presenting the perspective of the Polish regulator.

The official delegation held a number of working meetings with representatives of the Singapore administration focused on issues of innovation support and risk management related to technology development.

As part of the accompanying activities, the Polish Embassy in Singapore organized a networking meeting 'Fintech Made in Poland'. SFF participants, including companies planning expansion to the Asian market, had an opportunity to establish contacts with Polish professionals active in the banking, insurance, IT and FinTech industries in Singapore and gain first-hand knowledge about market insights. Local partners were also invited to participate in the meeting. A presentation on the possibilities of intellectual property protection in Singapore and in the ASEAN region, as part of a fast track dedicated to the FinTech industry, was presented by a representative of IPOS International.
