“Poland Tastes Good” at FHA Food & Beverage Fair 2023

25.04.2023

Over 20 Polish agri-food companies participated in 2023 edition of FHA Food & Beverage fair – Southeast Asia’s largest food and hospitality trade event, and Singapore’s biggest international trade show by exhibition space and visitor numbers.

“Poland Tastes Good” at FHA Food & Beverage Fair 2023

Organised by National Support Centre for Agriculture, the Polish national pavilion was officially opened on 25th of  April by the Ambassador of Poland in Singapore Magdalena Bogdziewicz.

Under the leading theme “POLAND TASTES GOOD”, food producers and distributors from Poland showcased meat, eggs, dairy products, healthy snacks, fruits and vegetables, juices as well as sweets and candies. At the national stand, the fair visitors could taste delicious Polish food and witness live culinary shows by Polish chefs as well as meet Polish companies looking for partners and learn about premium quality and safety of their products. Polish organic food manufacturers showcased their goods as a part of EU Organicity project while several other companies exhibited their offer individually.

A key event for Singaporean companies interested in meeting partners from Poland and other countries from Central and Eastern Europe, was CEEfood Experience! a networking session on 24 April. Co-organized by Polish Investment & Trade Agency with Central and Eastern European Chamber of Commerce, the meet-up was a great opportunity to taste European food and network with the suppliers, buyers, distributors and other entrepreneurs seeking new business prospects.

Following the strong Polish presence at FHA-Food & Beverage Fair, another highly-anticipated food event is returning to Singapore, too. Polish Culinary Week, a part of annual PolandSHIOK! Polish festival in Singapore, takes place from April 27 to May 3 at WINESTONE restaurant (30 Stevens Road). A must-try is the specially curated Polish Cuisine Menu which puts the spotlight on a wide variety of Polish delicacies, ranging from traditional dishes to modern twists on classic recipes. The tantalising dishes will be whipped by master chefs flown from Poland for the occasion. The event falls under the Polish Heritage Days initiative promoting Polish heritage and culture worldwide.

Poland is a leading EU producer of agri-food products and a heavyweight player in the production of poultry meat, pork and beef, milk and cereals as well as fruits and vegetables. In 2022, the sales of Polish agri-food products abroad reached a record-breaking value of over EUR 47 billion, which is 26% more than in 2021 while the surplus of exports over imports reached 15,5 billion.

Excellent quality of Polish products, sustainable production methods and reasonable prices translate into constant increase of the number of Polish agricultural goods also in Singapore, with a triple increase of the Polish food export here since 2019. FHA Food & Beverage Fair 2023 in Singapore was a valuable opportunity for local entrepreneurs to get familiar with Polish food offer and pave the way for even stronger presence of food from Poland in Singapore and South-East Asia.
