In tribute to General Stefan Rowecki ‘Grot’

Minister Tomasz Siemoniak laid a wreath at the monument to the General, paying homage to the Commander of the Home Army and all those whose courage and sacrifice laid the foundations of freedom.

The event was also attended by State Secretary in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Radosław Kujawa, Head of the Internal Security Agency Colonel Rafał Syrysko and his deputies.

Gen. Stefan Rowecki was always where he was needed, guided by patriotism. I believe he is an excellent patron for this Centre. We need such figures and role models to refer to — who give strength and energy to all those who can draw inspiration from them

- emphasised Minister Tomasz Siemoniak.

Professor Krystyna Rowecka-Trzebicka quoted the General: ‘You must set an example of courage, honour, and ardent service to the nation’ and stressed that she is honoured to participate in the anniversary and to nurture the family memory of Stefan Rowecki.

In 1942, General Stefan Rowecki ‘Grot’ took command of the Home Army — the largest underground army in occupied Europe. Through strategic thinking and courage, he was able to organise complex underground structures and conduct military and intelligence activities throughout the country.

General’s attitude became a symbol of unwavering patriotism and a foundation of the values that today guide the officers of the special services. As the patron of the Central Centre for Training and Education, ‘Grot’ inspires future generations to responsible and courageous service in the interest of state security.

The event was also attended by State Secretary in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Radosław Kujawa, Head of the Internal Security Agency Colonel Rafał Syrysko and his deputies.

Training and Education of Officers for 25 Years

For 25 years, the Internal Security Agency’s Central Centre for Training and Education has been educating and preparing officers for service in the interest of state security. Minister Tomasz Siemoniak congratulated the officers and employees of the Centre for their contribution to building state security.

25 years of preparation and the dedicated work of officers on challenging issues – this is truly a well-deserved anniversary. I extend my sincere congratulations to all the officers who have contributed to this service over the years. A special service is, above all, about people – their preparation and experience determine success both here and within the service itself. I am very pleased that we can honour this exceptional anniversary in this way

- added Minister Tomasz Siemoniak.

For a quarter of a century, the Internal Security Agency’s Central Centre for Training and Education has conducted training activities as well as publishing and scientific work. Within its structures, among other things, scientific journals are produced: ‘Internal Security Review’ and ‘Terrorism – Studies, Analyses, Prevention’. The subject matter of articles published in Polish and English encompasses broadly understood issues of state internal security and topics related to anti-terrorist protection. The aforementioned publications are included in the list of indexed journals, and the authors of the articles include Internal Security Agency’s officers and members of other Polish uniformed services, as well as academic staff from universities and research institutions.
