Meeting of the College for Special Services

The College for Special Services, which met on 10 May, was briefed by the heads of the special services on current findings regarding the circumstances of Tomasz Szmydt's flight to Belarus and his cooperation with a foreign intelligence service. Intensive investigative activities are ongoing, including interviews, searches, and the securing of evidence.
The College noted the assumptions of the draft amendment to the Act on the State Committee for Investigating Russian Influences, which aims to eliminate unconstitutional provisions and to swiftly appoint a commission under the supervision of the Minister of Justice. The government plans to adopt the draft on 21 May and submit it to the next sitting of the Sejm.
The College was informed about requests made by the Minister for Special Services Coordination to the First President of the Supreme Court, the President of the Supreme Administrative Court, and the Prosecutor General to cooperate on new regulations regarding the protection of classified information within the justice system.
The College also reviewed the report of the Chief Commander of the Border Guard on the situation at the Polish-Belarusian border and the forthcoming planned activities of state services in this area.
