Polish-Moroccan talks on security

Polish-Moroccan bilateral cooperation, as well as cooperation within the framework of the European Union in the field of security, was the main topic of meetings held by Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister - Member of the Council of Ministers and Coordinator of Special Services, with the heads of the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of the Interior of the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as the Director General for Internal Security. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcin Bosacki also participated in the visit to Rabat.

Morocco cooperates with the European Union on security matters and in the fight against terrorism. The European Union remains the Kingdom of Morocco’s primary economic and trade partner. 

Polish–Moroccan cooperation

On Thursday, 9 April this year, the Polish delegation, led by Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister – Member of the Council of Ministers and Coordinator of Special Services, met with Abdellatif Loudiyi, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defence Administration.

The discussions covered, inter alia, the importance of security in bilateral relations and intergovernmental cooperation in the defence and military industry sectors.

Poland approaches security issues in a comprehensive manner, developing dialogue and international cooperation

- Minister Tomasz Siemoniak emphasised following the meeting with the head of the Moroccan defence ministry.

The Coordinator of Special Services also held talks with Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General for Internal Security of Morocco. The discussions addressed, among other matters, the safety of Polish tourists, as many as 315,000 of whom visited Morocco in 2025.

During the visit, Minister Tomasz Siemoniak, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Bosacki and the Ambassador of Poland to Morocco, Tomasz Orłowski, laid wreaths at the tombs of King Mohammed V and King Hassan II. The ceremony took place at the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat.

Morocco as one of Poland’s closest partners in the region 

On Friday, 10 April this year, the Polish delegation met with Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior of the Kingdom of Morocco. The topics discussed included the situation in the region, Morocco’s cooperation with the European Union, countering terrorist threats, cooperation in the field of migration (including combating human trafficking) and addressing its root causes, as well as the fight against organised crime.

Morocco is one of our closest partners in the region. We highly appreciate its very good cooperation with the European Union. We look forward to even closer cooperation, particularly in the broadly understood field of security

- noted Tomasz Siemoniak, Coordinator of Special Services.

He also added that special services remain closely linked to the internal affairs of the state, playing a key role in ensuring security and stability.
