For many years Polish archaeologists have been actively engaged in the preservation of priceless cultural artifacts discovered in the Palmyra region. This summer scientists from Poland have conducted training sessions on using 3D documentation techniques for Syrian scientists from Damascus, Palmyra and Maaret al-Nouman. Polish specialists have also presented the latest technological solutions in this field during a lecture organized by the Faculty of Architecture at Damascus University.

By decision of Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums, Polish archaeologists have been entrusted with the classification of Palmyrene sculptures being held in the collections of the National Museum of Damascus.
