Marek Szczygieł has been working at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1993. He has been holding various positions working both at the Ministry in Warsaw, postings abroad in Stockholm (1995-2000), Vienna (2004-2008) and Romania (2011-2015), as well as at international organisations like the EU (HoM EUMM in Georgia 2020-2022) and the OSCE (Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities 2023-2025).

He is married and has two children.
