The event is attended by: Halina Szymańska, President of ARMA; Renata Mantur, Deputy President of ARMA; Emilia Godlewska, Deputy Director at ARMA; Dawid Ciupak, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and European Projects at ARMA. The meeting is attended by experts from Lithuania and France, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia. Rafał Perl, the Polish Ambassador to Serbia, was also present on the first day of the conference.

The conference will last until July 12, 2022. During it, experts from an international consortium share their experiences with representatives of the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture in introducing organizational and legal solutions in line with EU regulations. Let us recall that the leader of the consortium implementing the twinning project for Serbia is the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture.

Twinning is a program financed by the European Commission, thanks to which the candidate countries to the European Union can receive substantive assistance from countries that are already EU members. Twinning projects are mainly implemented through specialist training and study visits.

The European Commission has allocated EUR 1.8 million for cooperation with Serbs, which will last two years.

The project includes six components:

Component 1: Strengthening the fruit and vegetable sector in the Republic of Serbia in line with the CMO (Common Market Organization) in the EU

Component 2: Strengthening the wine, aromatised wine products and spirits sector in the Republic of Serbia

Component 3: Strengthening the animal products sector in the Republic of Serbia in line with the CMO

Component 4: Strengthen the administrative capacity of MAFWM in relation to the sugar, tobacco and hops sectors

Component 5: Create conditions for the efficient establishment and functioning of producer organizations, associations of producer organizations and interbranch organizations in line with EU requirements

Component 6: Create conditions for the efficient establishment and operation of market intervention mechanisms (public interventions and support for private storage) in the Republic of Serbia in line with the EU acquis.

The implementation of two of them - components 1 and 4 - corresponds to ARMA.
