Study visit of a delegation from Tunisia

From 24th to 26th of April 2023, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries of Tunisia and PRIMEA were hosted in Poland. During their stay, they participated in meetings with experts, as well as visited farms who have benefited from the support offered by ARMA. Their intention was to use the experience gained in Poland in their country
- I am glad that the representatives of the Tunisian government decided that it’s worth learning from the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture. This is a distinction for the institution I manage, which attaches great importance to international activities. I hope that this meeting will initiate further cooperation, and the good practices that the speakers and farmers themselves will talk about during the visit will be valuable and useful – these words were addressed to the guests by President of ARMA Mrs Halina Szymańska.
During the welcome meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries Ms Soumaya Kaabia and Ms Besma Ouselati from the PRIMEA Program for Investment Reconstruction and Modernization of Agricultural Farms, accompanied by representatives of the Tunisian Embassy in Poland, talked about agriculture in Tunisia. It turned out that 80% of small farms are mostly run by women. In order for the local village to be able to invest and develop, financial support is necessary. Representatives of the Tunisian agricultural sector want to learn as much as possible about various aid measures that have worked well on Polish ground.
